Plant so you can eat

When one puts his trust in his money, possessions, place of residence, job,  those items may not be able to provide him his needs. Only one who trusts in H'shem can be certain he will have what he needs at all times and in all places.  One's means of making a living is not an end in itself. When you have a job that makes GD's name great and helps his world the money stays with you in this world and the reward travels up with you to the world to come.  357/359 Investing oneself in learning Torah is akin to planting a tree, that grows bear's branches and fruits. Torah L'shma earns one "eternal life and brings an increase of holiness, blessing, and spiritual light to all the higher worlds".  Gate Four, Chapter 11 pg 150/151

Never Fear

One with "the dream job" can never be sure how much material he needs always in fear he has too much or too little and is constantly looking over his shoulder to see who is watching him, in fear they will find out his secret.  The one who trusts in H'shem though knows he will always have exactly what he needs never in fear, eager to tell everyone the secret to his success. In addition, only one who trusts in H'shem can be certain he will be protected, healthy enough to be able to accomplish what H'shem has set out for him to do.  pg 357                                                              Nefesh Hachaim From the time the Torah was brought down by Moshe to the lower worlds, "the continued existence of all the worlds is secured by our speaking and thinking Torah thoughts" We can understand from this that if GD fo...

What is the surest way to wealth and happiness

One would think the "dream job" would insure his wealth and happiness, to the contrary proven it 10 different examples, each one showing how trust in H'shem is the surest of ways.  1. With a dream job there is always a fear of having a lack of material to get the job done, one who trusts in H'shem lacks nothing he needs 2.The dream job promises no safety from injury or death, one who trusts in H'shem is  protected as well as provided for 3.The one who has the dream job is always afraid someone will find out his secret, one who trusts in H'shem is happy to share his knowledge, certain it will benefit him and everyone else. pg 353/355 Nefesh Hachaim Before the Torah was brought down, the lower world was in a "precarious and unstable" state.  The world remained this way for two thousand years, its "fate in the balance" depending on the Jewish nation's willingness to accept the Torah.  If it did not the world would " turn back to prim...

A Jew is identical to a Torah scroll

An advantage of trusting in H'Shem is a heart diverted from worldly concerns and focused on serving H'shem. He will have peace of mind, diminished anxiety on an even greater level than the "alchemist", one who can turn metal into precious metals.  pg 353 Why must one tear his clothing if he is in the presence of one who is passing away?  Because a Jew is compared to a Torah scroll and on his passing, he is likened to a burning Torah scroll, which too if witness requires one to tear his garments "For the holiness of a Jewish soul is identical with the holiness of a Torah scroll"(Gemarah Moed Katan 25a) Gate four Chapter 11 pg 149/150

Every Yid has a letter in the Torah

One who trusts and fears H'shem fears no other.  He is free from the burden of pleasing flattering and bribing them.  He will stand up for justice and the way of the Torah and will not fear his job, life, or luxuries because of it.  pg 351/353 Nefesh Hachaim "The rood of each Jew's soul is linked to a letter of the Torah.  We now understand the verse that H'shem thought of bringing Yisroel into the world before he brought anything else. Being that the Torah and the Yid are the same roots there is no contradiction when we read that the Torah came before all else. Gate Four Chapter 11 pg 149
