His trust in what is in GD's hands is stronger than his trust in what he controls himself

The intelligent individual acts on all three accounts in a way that accords with his religious and secular interests. In regard to income and possessions, his trust in what is in GD's hands is stronger than his trust in what he controls himself because he does not know if the latter is income provided him for his own needs or is merely placed in his care.  He attains honor in this world and a fitting reward in the World to Come. pg 413

The poor man labors in vain in this world and forfeits his reward in the World to Come

(Be cautious not to) become one who is arrogant, proud-hearted, and haughty and feels no gratitude (to GD) for this (privilege).  He thinks that if he were to deny the others this income, it would remain in his possession and that if not for him, their income would be cut off.  This poor man labors in vain in this world and forfeits his reward in the World to Come. 413

The third error the ignorant person makes

The third error (the ignorant person makes) is that he provides others with their income as ordained for them by the Creator through his agency, reminds them of his favor toward them as if it were he that provided them with income, supported them, and showed himself benevolent toward them, and expects them to thank and praise him profusely and be subservient to him  He becomes arrogant proud hearted and haughty and feel no gratitude (to GD) for this (privilege) pg 413

Wealth is not meant for one's own satisfaction

The ignorant person thinks that all the wealth decreed to him by the Creator is meant for his own satisfaction and physical maintenance, and so he is eager to acquire it and works hard for it while it may turn out that he has accumulated it for his successor his widow's next husband his murderer or his greatest enemy.

Error of the ignorant

The second error of the ignorant consists of thinking that all the wealth he acquires is meant for his own sustenance.  He does not realize that there are three types of income.  First, there is income for one's own needs. This GD assures to every creature that has a spark of life to the end of its days.  Second is income for the needs of others e.g. wife children servants attendants and the like.   This is not promised by GD to all people but only to a select few under certain conditions.   It is something that may happen at one time and mot at another according to the dictates of the Creator's ways of kindness and justice.  Third is income to be held as wealth. This is money that is of no use to the owner but which he preserves, protects, bequeaths, to someone else, or loses. pg 413

Succeed in his religious as well as secular affairs,

A king, for example, supports his army and servants. So also high officials, ministers of state, and deputies are surrounded by groups of their servants attendants officials, wives, and relatives.  They make every effort to raise money for their dependents employing means that are good and bad.  The ignorant one among them commits three errors.  First, in accumulating wealth, he takes by shameful and wicked methods what the Creator decrees is his to take.  Had he sought it by decent means, he would have realized his goals and aspirations succeeded in his religious as well as secular affairs, and what the Creator had decreed for him would not have been diminished in the least. pg 411

The most powerful sources of trial and temptation

Sometimes the Creator so orders it that many people obtain their livelihood through one person in order to test that individual whether he will serve GD or rebel against Him   For such a position presets him with one of the most powerful sources of trial and temptation a person could face. pg 411

He will find peace of mind and tranquility of soul,

If no more than his subsistence has been decreed for him, even if all those in heaven and on earth were to try to increase it, they would not succeed in any way or by any means. And if he trusts in GD, he will find peace of mind and tranquility of soul, for his allotted portion will not be transferred to another, nor will it come earlier or later than the appointed time.  pg 409/411

It will come to him without trouble or effort,

The proper way of relying on GD in matters of a person's possessions, his sources of income, business dealing, commerce, handcraft travel....and similar occupations in which men engage to accumulate money and lead a life of luxury is to engage in whatever occupation the Creator has prepared for him to the extent necessary for his maintenance and sustenance to attain what suffices him in this world.  If the Creator ordains more for him, it will come to him without trouble or effort, provided he relies on GD for it and does not overly pursue (natural) means or rely on them in his heart. pg 409

He will cure him of his illness

When a person trusts in GD, He will cure him of his illness by (natural) means or without such means as it says, "He sends His word and heals them" (Tehillim 107:20).  He may even heal him by means of something very harmful as you know from the account of Elisha and the bad water when he cured its unwholesomeness with salt. When Assa became ill, he relied on the physicians instead of trusting in GD how he was disciplined and reproved for this pg 409

Place your trust in the Creator

A person should place his trust in the Creator in regards to health and illness while seeking continued health through natural means   He should fight illness in the customary way -as the Creator, May He be exalted has commanded, yet have no faith in the power of the (natural) causes of health and illness to help or harm except with GD's permission. pg 409
