H'shem's Cheshbon to grant wealth to the seemingly undeserving could be for his misfortune and demise.   It may also be for him once he does Teshuvah and is deserving of it.   The good fortune could be Hakarat Hatov that H'shem is showering on him for his ancestor’s devotion in the service of Him. pg 393 Nefesh Hachaim Each Mitzvah creates Keshusha and light and gives “power” to GD.   This is how H’shem created the world through our deeds we influence “nature”.   A Mitzvah performed on earth ascends to its intended place and influence the higher world.
