Only in Him

There are two major characteristics that would require me to trust in someone.  They are 1. He feels compassion for me and 2. Actively, watchers over my interest. Once I am aware that he truly feels this way  I will unhesitantly put my trust in him.  Can anyone other than H'shem fulfill this?  I would not bet on it.  367 Nefesh Hachaim Nefesh HachaimTanna D'bei Eliyahu says One who learns Torah... can pierce the sky with his tefilot and bring rain upon the world.  Gate Four Chapter 14 pg 155

What is trust

"What is trust?"  At the base of trust must be complete reliance on the one in whom you are putting your trust in, that he knows what is beneficial for you, as well as capable of carrying it out.  Even more to really trust you must also believe that they will do everything and anything they can to help you even if they did not promise to do so.  365 Nefesh Hachaim The Zohar says "when a person immerses himself in Torah study lishmah it is as if he were standing at Mount Sinai receiving the Torah"  Whenever a person reflects on Torah thoughts he attaches himself to GD's word.. Even today when learning Torah he is considered to be receiving it on Sinai Gate Four Chapter 14 155

No fear only trust

One who truly trusts in H'shem knows that if business is "bad" or he is in a situation he would normally dislike, he is happy confident there is nothing to fear. "The Creator may he be exalted arranges his affairs and chooses what is for his good better than he himself can.. and He will do only what is for his good in all things" An infant might not understand his mother's actions but trusts they are for his good  363 Nefesh Hachaim The effect of even just one man learning Torah explains the Zohar is H'shem is happy as He was on the day of creation, the angels sing the praises of the Jewish nation and the nation is happy that they were chosen to be given the Torah.   Gate Four Chapter 14 pg 155

The answer is simple

One who trusts in H'shem pursues a source of livelihood that is comfortable and easy on the body and soul.  He knows there is no reason to seek out difficult labor that can endanger his physical or spiritual life.  He understands that his sustenance will come from H'shem, not his choice of labor 363 Nefesh Hachaim The entire creation was brought into existence purely for Klal Yisroel to study the Torah.  When Am Yisroel received the Torah "GD was happy to have created the world, for now, its purpose was fulfilled.  Gate Four Chapter 13 pg 153

There is no need to go searching for a livelihood

Among the advantages of Emuna and Bitachon is that one can save himself the need to run to far-off places to search for a livelihood.  If one truly trusted in H'shem he would know that H'shem can provide for him everything that he needs exactly where he is while enjoying the comfort of a soul at peace, with time dedicated to Avodat H'shem and a livelihood.  pg 363 Nefesh Hachaim When one creates a new Torah insight, GD takes that insight kisses it and crowns it with seventy crowns.  Each new word flies aloft to 70,000 worlds and becomes a heavenly expanse GD calls these insights "the new heavens"  As such one should exert himself to learning Torah day and night.  Gate Four, Chapter 12 pg 153

His happiness does not change

One who trusts in H'shem understands that his money is a deposit to be used as needed to serve H'shem.  If H'shem gives him wealth or takes it away, he does not change his happiness or trust as he knows that it is to his benefit whatever H'shem decides for him. He is always happy with his portion and never tries to take what is not his.  pg361 Nefesh Hachaim The greatest benefit to the higher worlds is achieved by developing novel Torah insights.  Every single word of a new insight is cherished dearly by GD. He kisses it and builds a new world from it.  Gate Four Chapter 12 pg 152
