Any act brought into actuality such as a man drawing water from a well by means of a pully.  Cannot arise from man or anything else except by the decree of GD and unless He prepares the means for their completion.  If the means are entirely lacking none of the natural activities can be brought into actuality.    

 It should be clear to a person that every new thing brought about in this world subsequent to the Creation is completed by two things (a) the Creator's decree and Will that it be brought into the realm of existence  (b) intermediate cause and means some of them immediate and others remote some evident and others concealed all racing to complete what was ordained to come into existence and be revealed with GD's help 

 If one relies on the Creator while at the same time he rebels against Him how ignorant is such a person how weak is his mind and his intellect!  For he can see that in human relationships when an individual is charged with a certain responsibility by another person who either commands him to attend to one of his affairs or cautions him about something and he violates that person's command if word of his violation then reaches the one who commanded him it will be the strongest reason for nonfulfillment of that for which he had relied on the other  This is certainly true then of one who rebels against H'shem and transgresses His statutes and commandments for which He promised reward and threatened punishment. If he relies on GD his hopes will be dashed and he will not deserve to be called  "one who trusts in GD"  

 A person should be exceedingly careful and make a great effort to fulfill what the Creator has required of him in His service to carry out His commandments and to keep far from what He has forbidden him just as he would like the Creator to agree to that for which he relies on Him.  

It is improper for a person to profess in his speech that he trusts in GD if he does not trust in Him in his heart and inner self.  A person should trust in GD alone in matters in which he is obligated to trust in Him.  He should not associate anyone else with Him trusting in GD and in one of the creatures for his trust in GD will be spoiled by associating someone else with Him. It is well known that whenever two or more people are appointed to carry out a given task the appointment fails certainly then if one trusts in GD and in someone beside him his trust will fail and this will be the strongest factor in his being denied the object of his trust 

A person should know and realize that the Creator, is watching him and nothing is hidden from him neither his outer no his inner life neither his outer appearances nor his inner convictions.  He knows whether a person's trust in HIm is sincere or not.  pg 379

Preoccupying oneself with the advancement of what the Creator delayed or delaying what He advanced or increasing what He diminished or diminishing what He increased among worldly possessions if it does not lead to the fulfillment of the duty to serve GD and accept His Torah reflects a lack of recognition of the true nature of His knowledge and ignorance of the beneficence of His government,  pg 377
