87 Simple

If one were to give instructions to another and the instructions and directives were blatantly ignored the one who gave the original command would naturally want to retract what he had promised to do for him pg 381 Nefesh Hachaim Just as man's body is purified and uplifted through learning Torah so are all the higher worlds uplifted and purified through his learning as the heavens are the counterpart to man on earth. Gate One, Chapter 21 pg 68

86 Do the same

Our belief and desire is that the Creator do for us as He has instructed us to rely on Him.  So too we should be exceedingly careful to do what the Creator has asked us to do. pg 381 Nefesh Hachaim Just as the waters of the Mikvah purify us so does learning Torah raise a person from a state of "guilt to a state of merit" Gate One, Chapter 21 pg 68

85 Seek to do good

To rely on H'shem's kindness,  Emuna and Bitachon is not enough.   GD has required of us to keep his commandments and seek to do good. pg 381 When one learns Torah for the sake of Torah and to be educated in it's teaching his entire body becomes purified Gate One, Chapter 21 pg 67

84 Only one can do the job

When one appoints two people to a specific task, it is a known fact that the job does not get done.   The same is the case when one trusts GD and also relies on someone else.   "It will be the strongest factor in his being denied the object of his trust.” pg381 Nefesh Hachaim Adam desperately wanted to regain the sparks he had lost as a result of the sin and tried to offer a Korban of an ox to uplift his neshama, ruach and nefesh.   The horns were an expression of wanting to rectify the highest point the neshama and the hoofs the lowest point the nefesh.   Gate One, Chapter 20.pg 67

83. Your sins will be wiped away

We learn from Assa that when he fell ill he trusted in the Doctors and not in GD and he was punished for this. pg 379 Nefesh Hachaim How the merit of Kadish works. When one answers  "Amen Yehe Sheme"... he adds a flow of holiness and blessing to his soul.   This then uplifts the Neshama, Ruach, and Nefesh.  Through this process if there were any existing sins they are now forgiven Gate One, Chapter 20 pg 67

82. Trust in Him alone or have your trust spoiled

It is imperative that one trust in GD alone.  Trusting in GD and in someone else will have his trust  "spoiled by associating someone else with Him." pg 379 Nefesh Hachaim It is brought down in Misechet Shabbat that when one  answers with full spirit, "Amen Yeh'e Sh'eme Rabba" to Kadish the negative judgments brought against him will be torn up, even if he has a trace of Avoda Zarah in him. Gate One, Chapter 21 pt 67

81 Rely only on Him

One must completely rely on H'shem and NO ONE ELSE in matters that we are obligated to trust in Him. pg379 Nefesh Hachaim Torah study corrects the sin and damage to the Neshama and sparks that hover over one’s head that were destroyed by impure thoughts.   When he immerses himself in Torah study he reignites these sparks   which give him the ability to understand deep Torah ideas that he was unable to understand before Gate One, Chapter 21 pg 66

80. Honor Me

Those who profess to trust in H'shem with words but in their heart they do not trust in Him are referred to in Yeshayahu (29;13) as "With their mouth and with their lips they honor Me, while their hearts they keep far from Me". pg 379 Nefesh Hachaim Through real Teshuva the Neshama is imbued with Kedusha that is passed on to the Ruach.  The spiritual impurities brought to his Ruach through sin can be shattered and Kedusha restored thus reattaching itself to the Neshama Gate One, Chapter 20 pg66

79 Speak truthfully

If one does not trust in GD with in his heart it is not proper to profess that he trusts in Him with his speech. pg 379 Nefesh Hachaim When one damages  the ruach part of his soul with sins such as slander or neglecting the Torah his nefesh element is damaged as well since they are attached and the ruach uplifts or brings down the nefesh Gate One, Chapter 20 pg 66

78 Purity

"For You alone know the hearts of all men"(Melachim 1 8:39) pg 379 Nefesh Hachaim Through Teshuva a new flow of Kedusha from H'shem Himself flows to the root of his Neshama that then transcends to his Neshama then to the Ruach and finally to the Nefesh and completely erases any trace of the evil. Purity is restored and his nefesh can now be reconnected to his ruach. Gate One, Chapter 20 pg 65/66

77 He knows

GD knows whether a person's trust in Him is sincere or not, nothing is hidden from Him pg 379 Nefesh Hachaim Even if a person stained his Neshama by sinning or sank to the lowest levels of evil "his sincere verbal confession coming from the depths of his heart will reach the loftiest spiritual heights above" Gate One, Chaprer 20 pg 65

76 Always watching

It is important for one to know that H'shem is always watching him and nothing is hidden not his inner thoughts, and feelings or his outer appearance and actions. pg 379 Nefesh Hachaim GD's immense love for us caused Him to attach His holy  name (kוkי) to us securing the connection to our souls  never letting our nefesh  possibly drag the ruach   and neshama to places that GD forbid will  disconnect him from Am Yisroel and cause man to never be able to repent. Gate One, Chapter 19 pg 64/65
