62 Connection

As Dovid says" Your wondrous deeds ant thoughts toward us ..none can compare with You, ( Your wonders) are too great to recount. (40:6) pg 375/377 Nefesh Hachaim   When one uplifts the soul through good deeds even the lowest aspect of the soul, the Nefesh, can connect to the spiritual closeness of H'shem Gate One, Chapter 17 pg 61

61 A gift

GD has no ulterior motive or "need" to provide or sustain us.  He does it out of his kindness "a gift, a favor, a grace". pg 375 Nefesh Hachaim Ones Nefesh, Ruach and Nishmah are connected to each other as the higher worlds are connected to one another. Each ones tip reaches the others bottom.   When one uses his Nishamah for instance to serve H'shem and do good deeds he uplifts the Nishmah as does the Ruach and Nefesh to a higher spiritual realm Gate One, Chapter 17 pg 61

60 Remember

On a continuous basis one should remind himself of all the good GD has done for him.  How he has fed, and sheltered him, protected and provided for him all this time without him deserving it. pg375 Nefesh Hachaim   GD in His kindness wants to bestow more and more goodness on him....He should remember that even if he has sunken....everything can be turned around.. for no one is permanently banished from GD.   Gate One, Chapter 17 pg 60

59 Exclusive

When one realizes that no one or thing can help or harm him unless decreed by GD , he will come to exclusively and completely trust in Him alone.   pg 375 Nefesh Hacahim   As a result of understanding that nefesh, ruach and neshama are directly connected to his deeds words and thoughts, and how GD wants to shower him with more and more goodness, he must recognize his obligation to Torah, Mitzvot and constant review of his behavior and repenting. Gate One, Chapter 17 pg 60

58 There can be only ONE

When he comes to realize that in reality only ONE has the power to effect, and provide for him, he will completely turn his trust and devotion to the ONE. pg 375 Nefesh Hachaim To correctly and purely serve the Creator one must "constantly examine his deeds, words and thoughts to see whether he has lived up to H'shems wishes”.   Gate One, Chapter 18 pg 60

57 There can be only one

If one knows there is a potential that two can help him, he will never rely on only one.  pg 375 Nefesh Hachaim Nefesh, ruach and nishamah are eternally linked which makes the teshuvah process possible. Gate One, Chapter 17 pg 60

56 Benefit or harm

Benefit or harm is decreed by GD and, no one has that power other than Him. pg 375 Nefesh Hachaim  At Har Sinai, when H'shem spoke to Am Yisroel they all "merited ... the sparks of neshamah emanating from GD's mouth"   This is alluded to by the two crowns placed by the Melachim on every Jew.   These crowns gave them the ability to understand the “inner mysteries of the holy Torah." Gate One, Chaper 16, pg 59/60

55 "GD does not tire or grow weary"

There is nothing hidden from H'shem.   He is never too occupied or distracted  to manage a situation large or small. pg 375 Nefesh Hachiam The only way to be worthy of these sparks from H'shems breath is by "exerting oneself by delving deeply into the holy Torah, and learning for the sake of Torah since the sparks of the neshama and the Torah are all from one source. Gate One Chapter 16 pg 59

54 Straight from Him

H’shem personally attends to the welfare of all mankind.   No situations be it small or big, will ever be ignored or forsaken. Pg 375 Nefesh Hachaim Any understanding or knowledge that we are granted or possess is only through the grace of H’shem.   He has taken it from His mouth and given it straight into to ours. Gate One, Chapter 16 pg 59

53 Eim Habanim

So said H'shem in Yeshayahu "My word which proceeds from My mouth, it does not return to me empty without  accompishing  what I desire" pg 373,375 Nefesh Hachaim The counterpart to the neshama in the higher worlds is called Eim Habanim.   After the sin of Adam “man's ruach level receives only sparks of the neshama. In the higher realm only the lowest level of Eim Habanim enters the lower world and its main part remains above giving off its light only from a distance.   Gate One, Chapter 16 pg 58

52 His word

"His word is absolute no one can reverse his sentence" pg 373 Nefesh Hachaim What is referred to by the Zohar and Kabbalist as the neshamah that resides in man’s brain, they are referring to these sparks overhead, that “transmit wisdom and understanding to man's bain and intellect” Gate One, Chapter 15, pg 58

51. The strongest

The Creator of the world is "the strongest of all the strong." pg 373 Nefesh Hachaim These "sparks" that hover over head according to the persons "stature and eminence" gives him the ability to understand the "mystical concepts hidden in our holy Torah" Gate One, chapter 15, pg57

50 Holy Sparks

GD is all knowing of what is beneficial or harmful for man in this world and in the next. pg 373 Nefesh Hachaim Moshe was called a man of GD as he was the only one after Adam that had the Neshama reside within him "All man can hope to attain is that the neshama "sparks" will glow over his head Gate One, Chapter 15 pg 57

49 The Neshamah hovers

If "the maker knows his creations as no other" is true for "human makers" who can form nothing without heavenly help, how much more so for the Master of the world that created every being. pg373 The true Neshama that GD blew into Adam left him after the sin and only hovered over his body.  "The essence of the neshamah itself is completely hidden... no part of it enters man's body." Gate One, Chapter 15 pg 57

48 He knows you best

Who knows what is best better than its maker.   GD knows what benefit or harms all His creations, the mishaps and ailments and what can cure it. pg373 Would anyone argue the author knows his characters more than anyone else. The glass blower blows his are into the tube to form the glass.   "Ruach is poured into him from above.   The highest point to ruach is connected to the lowest part of neshamah." Gate One, Chapter 15 pg 57

47 Man is GD's work

"Man is GD's work" who then would know better what man needs. pg 373 The three steps a glass blower takes to create his work of art match the three levels of the soul Nefesh is the breath he holds inside (lodged in his body) before he begins to use it to form the glass. Gate One, Chapter 15 pg 57

46 All compassion is from Him

The most compassionate to man is GD.  "Compassion and mercy shown to man by ANOYONE besides Him all derive from GD's compassion and mercy".   pg373 Nefesh Hachaim Although the word Neshama and Neshimah,(breath) sound the same the Neshama is not referring to the function of man's breath (breath is controlled by Ruach) it refers to the "breath of GD" as we learn in Berashit,   H'shem blew into the nostrils of Adam the spirit of life (nishmas chaim)   Gate One, Chapter 15 pg 56
