111 Reach as many people as you can

In regard to one's life and death, his maintenance, food, clothing and shelter his health and illness and his qualities, one must give himself over to what H'shem has decided is his destiny and one's soul must trust in Him completely.  pg399/401 Nefesh Hachaim   H'shem sustains and keeps us in existence.   The purpose of reciting Berachos is to increase one's own awareness of H'shem in the world first in our own minds & then in the minds and lives of as many people as we can reach.  Gate 2 Chapter 2 pg 79

110 You are obligated

One is obligated to trust in H'shem in all worldly matters relating to this world and in the world to come.  The "matters of this world" refer to 1. The welfare of one's own body 2. The interest of one's livelihood including one's wealth and possessions and the 3rd is the welfare of one's household, spouse and relatives friends and enemies those above him and those below him including all the different classes of people pg 397 Nefesh Hachaim When we say "Boruch Ata" we do not mean in any way that we are trying to increase or "Bless" GD since he is perfect.  The idea is to increase His relationship to us in this world represented by His different names increasing the relationship and blessing those attributes have on us. Gate 2 Chapter 2 pg 79

109 He will support you

"He will support him by whatever means and at any time and from whatever elements He wishes" "For nothing can prevent GD from saving, whether by many or by few" (Shmuel I 14:6) pg 397   Nefesh Hachaim   The true meaning of the word "Berachah" is asking H'shem to increase that which is being blessed, such as health, parnasa, children, and the like. Gate 2 chapter 2 pg 78/79

108 H'shem is the source

The source of ones earnings does  NOT depend on his job. One must understand that H'shem can send a Parnasa in whatever way He decides and does not need someone's employment to help send it to him. pg397 Nefesh Hachaim One must internalize that his mindset is of utmost important.  That having been said the most important is the Tefilah itself. Gate 2 Chapter 1 pg 78

107 You will not be harmed

GD commanded man to use what He has prepared for him in this world to build a home and family. If done with the correct intention he will be rewarded for his effort. "He will not be harmed at all by the search for  .. a livelihood if in his heart and mind he intends them for the sake of Heaven". pg396/397 Nefesh Hachaim Before one begins to pray he should prepare his mind to focus his entire mindset on the "Exaltedness of GD taking delight in GD through the words of prayer to the point that one's heart is drawn upward” Gate 2 Chapter 1 pg 77/78

106 Its all in the your mind

GD commanded man to peruse the means of making a living.  Our intent and mindset must be, while doing so, to fulfill the commandment set upon us by the Creator and not to accumulate wealth.  Even in Gan Eden H'shem commanded Adam to "Work the land and keep it."   pg 395   Nefesh Hachaim   One should be calm and prepare his mind to pray to H'shem.  If one enters prayer with distracting or strenuous thoughts he will not be able to turn to Him with all his heart. Gate 2  Chapter 1 pg 77
