Do not try to flatter another

One who trusts in H'shem will not put his hope in another.  He knows that his true help is only in H'shem and that man can only try to be a good shaliach. As such he will not go out of his way to try to win another's favor. be subservient, or overly flatter.  pg 351 Nefesh Hachaim H'shem, the Torah, and Yisrael are One.  All the worlds continue to exist and function properly only if we are engaged in studying the Torah.  Gate Four, Chapter 11 149

The one source of life and light

If one relies on his wealth, H'shem may allow him to hold onto it, but only as a deposit until someone more worthy of the wealth will inherit it. H'shem may even use his wealth as a means to his downfall as "the loss of his soul" pg 351 Nefesh Hachaim "The Torah.. has been the soul, life, and light of all the worlds ever since the world was created. Without the constant flow of light of the Torah, all the worlds would revert to ablsolute primordial emptiness".  Gate Four, Chapter 10 pg 148/149

"He said" so it was

"If he relies on his great wealth it will be taken from him and left to someone else, or else he will be denied the opportunity to enjoy it."  pg 351 Nefesh Hachaim Within the "story" of creation, the phrase "He said" is written ten times.  Within these ten "utterances" "encapsulates the Torah, all the worlds, and everything concerned with their existence".  Gate four chapter 10 pg 148/149

Do not labor in vain

Where will one put his trust if not in H'shem? In his own abilities, talents, professionals, connections.  "Whoever trusts in what is other than GD, GD removes His providence from him and leaves him in the hands of whatever her trust in.  Whatever he relies on " he will labor in vain his strength will fail and his ingenuity will be inadequate to achieve his goals"  349/351 Nefesh Hachaim The Torah's declaration that it showed H'shem how to make the world is based on the teachings in the Zohar that H'shem read the words in Bereshit "In the beginning, GD created Heaven" and then GD created the heavens. And so it was with everything that was created  Gate Four, Chapter 10 pg 148 Alshich on Avos "If not for My Covenant  (My Torah that is studied) by day and at night. I would not have set heaven and earth in place". Yirmeyahu  Chapter 5 Mishnah 1 pg 208

Fly my angle

The way in which one is meant to trust in H'shem at all times is as a servant who relies on his master. He is happy with what he receives, is never worried he will not be provided for, and finds great joy in being able to serve him.  349 Nefesh Hachaim   "When GD wanted to create the world He looked in the Torah and made the world", thus the Torah is the blueprint of the world, explaining the verse in Mishleh describing the Torah proclaiming that "I showed GD how to do it" Gate Four Chapter 11 pg 149 Alshich on Avos "The angles flying over the earth were created on the fifth day".  Chapter 5 Mishnah 1 pg 205 Leilui Nishmat Kol H'Kdoshim Shenoflu B'Meron
