The alchemist may have all the gold and silver in the world, but there are some things money can't buy! I remember reading once of a landlord who had many buildings but they were all condemned and he had nothing to eat. He was quoted as saying "You can't eat bricks" If there is no food, water, medicine to buy no amount of money can help. Rabbenu Bachya writes, "But at no time and in no place, to the end of his days, will sustenance be withheld from one who trust in H'shem."

Do you understand the level of that promise!
The Baal Shem Tov zt'l teaches us that when a person remembers Hashem, no bad can befall him. The Yeitav Lev said that this is alluded to in parashas Vayeitzei, when Hashem said, (28:15) "Behold I am with you and I will protect you wherever you go…" When you believe that H'shem is with you, you are protected from all harm.
