Motzei Shabbat Segulah

Yaakov Avinu suffered great pain in raising his children and all of the efforts went to provide them with the shefa and abundance of blessings in order that they would be able to be completely righteous Tzaddikim so that nothing would prevent them from serving H'shem. A Tzaddik who follows in Yaakov's footsteps and also draws down blessing to the world is called in Yaakov's name.

The Ba'al Shem Tov used to perform kefitzat ha-derech a miraculous shortening of distances every week after Shabbat together with his disciples. They visited the home of a couple and informed them that because of their extended rejoicing, it has been decided in Heaven to grant them either abundant wealth or a son who would brighten the world with his Torah learning The couple decided they had no need of wealth but they certainly wanted a son. The Ba'al Shem Tov advised them to name the child after himself Israel and so it was The following year a child was born and they named him Israel the great Rebbe Israel the Maggid of Kozhnitz who became famous all over the world insofar as he illuminated it with his learning

Once, on a Motzoei Shabbos, the chasidim were sitting in the bais medrash of the Ruzhiner Rebbe zy”a for Melave Malka. Suddenly, the Rebbe opened the door of his room next to the bais medrash, stood at the entrance, and said, “The Baal Shem Tov was not a deity, and the zaida, the Magid, was not just an ordinary wagon driver. And once, when the holy Baal Shem Tov prayed, his talis fringe fell out of his gartel and dragged on the floor. The Magid approached, picked it up, and put it back in the gartel, but he was trembled with such tremendous fear that he fainted and his life was in danger. They were compelled to rouse the Baal Shem Tov from his deep dveikus in order to calm him.” He then added, “I told you that the Baal Shem Tov was not a deity and my zaida, the Magid, was no wagon driver. The Segulah and the promise of saying Avraham's mother's name

There is a well-known segulah from the Kaf HaChaim citing HaRav Refael Abuchatzera that one who says Avraham Avinu's mother's name אמתלאי בת כרנבו (Amtlai bat Karnevo) 17 times before Oseh Shalom in Shmoneh Esrei is promised they will have chen and will be protected. When Amtlai found out she was pregnant, Nimrod had made a gezeirah that all baby boys were to be killed right after birth, since his advisors had told him a boy would be born who would show the world who the real GD is. Not knowing what to do, she called out: "Whoever the GD of the world is, if this is a boy, save him!" H'shem helped her hide her pregnancy from everyone, including Terach, her husband. When it was time to deliver, she went into a cave and gave birth. It was a boy. She called him Avram. She knew if he was discovered, he would be killed.
