Let him not be discouraged if his income is denied him on occasion rather let him trust in GD that He will provide him with his livelihood all his life. When he is occupied in mind and body with one of the means of earning a living let his intent be to fulfill the commandment of the Creator Who has commanded man to engage in worldly means such as working the soil..make use of the other living creatures for his benefit and sustenance to build cities and prepare food to marry and be fruitful and multiply.

There is a well-known segulah from the Kaf HaChaim citing HaRav Refael Abuchatzera that one who says Avraham Avinu's mother's name אמתלאי בת כרנבו (Amtlai bat Karnevo) 17 times before Oseh Shalom in Shmoneh Esrei is promised they will have chen and will be protected.
