I heard in the name of Rebbe Elimelech that if a person wishes to rise higher in his spiritual level, he must see to it that his character traits are whole and perfect on the lover level. This is because it is impossible to maintain a constant static level. A person is like the angels called Chayos, which run and return, for sometimes he rises, and sometimes he falls. Between Kerias Ha-Torah and the end of davening, There is no specific prohibition against taking.

During Hallel, It is forbidden to talk. Doing so constitutes an interruption of Hallel.

During Vayechulu and Magen Avos, It is forbidden to talk.

M. Shabbat Segulah

The Segulah and the promise of saying Avraham's mother's name

There is a well-known segulah from the Kaf HaChaim citing HaRav Refael Abuchatzera that one who says Avraham Avinu's mother's name אמתלאי בת כרנבו (Amtlai bat Karnevo) 17 times before Oseh Shalom in Shmoneh Esrei is promised they will have chen and will be protected. When Amtlai found out she was pregnant, Nimrod had made a gezeirah that all baby boys were to be killed right after birth, since his advisors had told him a boy would be born who would show the world who the real GD is.
