The Last and the First

Rabbernu Bachya concludes the last gate of Shaar Habitachon with a Tefila for each of us:

"May H'shem in His mercy set us among those who trust in Him, who surrender- outwardly and inwardly - to His judgement Amen"

I am completely overwhelmed with emotion having been able to walk with you through this journey. Because of you I have gained a deeper appreciation of Bitachon and I Daven to be able to continue my growth. The work of Trusting in H'shem is one that must be reviewed and strengthen on a daily basis and so we will now begin again and BE"H gain an even deeper level of Trust, Understanding, and Love for H'shem. I am confident that we will be celebrating the coming of Moshiach before we reach our second completion BE"H. We will celebrate and rejoice together knowing we did this Kodosh work for our Creator and having been able to gain a greater and deeper understanding of His greatness as we will soon be experiencing it. במהרה בימינו אמן

M. Shabbat Segulah

Once, on a Motzoei Shabbos, the chasidim were sitting in the bais medrash of the Ruzhiner Rebbe zy”a for Melave Malka. Suddenly, the Rebbe opened the door of his room next to the bais medrash, stood at the entrance, and said, “The Baal Shem Tov was not a deity, and the zaida, the Magid, was not just an ordinary wagon driver. And once, when the holy Baal Shem Tov prayed, his talis fringe fell out of his gartel and dragged on the floor. The Magid approached, picked it up, and put it back in the gartel, but he was trembled with such tremendous fear that he fainted and his life was in danger. They were compelled to rouse the Baal Shem Tov from his deep dveikus in order to calm him.” He then added, “I told you that the Baal Shem Tov was not a deity and my zaida, the Magid, was no wagon driver. The Segulah and the promise of saying Avraham's mother's name

There is a well-known segulah from the Kaf HaChaim citing HaRav Refael Abuchatzera that one who says Avraham Avinu's mother's name אמתלאי בת כרנבו (Amtlai bat Karnevo) 17 times before Oseh Shalom in Shmoneh Esrei is promised they will have chen and will be protected. When Amtlai found out she was pregnant, Nimrod had made a gezeirah that all baby boys were to be killed right after birth, since his advisors had told him a boy would be born who would show the world who the real GD is. Not knowing what to do, she called out: "Whoever the GD of the world is, if this is a boy, save him!" H'shem helped her hide her pregnancy from everyone, including Terach, her husband. When it was time to deliver, she went into a cave and gave birth. It was a boy. She called him Avram. She knew if he was discovered, he would be killed. So again she called out to the wind, "Whoever is in control of the world, please save this child!" and left him in the cave. H'shem again...
