We must eat to be satiated

Understand that everything that has come to be in this world must first have had a Divine decree that preceded it coming into be. The actions needed to create that thing was a gift that H'shem gave to man. For instance, if you are hungry and there is food in front of you believing "If H'shem wants me to be satiated He will do it and I don't have to do anything " Is not how the world was set up. According to the outcome a person must put in the necessary amount of effort to obtain it. As Rabbenu Bachya writes "One has to take steps (such as) hire himself out for wages, or sell precious objects belongings and the like" All the while realizing that H'shem has put him in this position to test his trust and build his reward, never feeling as though he himself is controlling the outcome or worried about what will be.

Once, on a Motzoei Shabbos, the chasidim were sitting in the bais medrash of the Ruzhiner Rebbe zy”a for Melave Malka. The Segulah and the promise of saying Avraham's mother's name

There is a well-known segulah from the Kaf HaChaim citing HaRav Refael Abuchatzera that one who says Avraham Avinu's mother's name אמתלאי בת כרנבו (Amtlai bat Karnevo) 17 times before Oseh Shalom in Shmoneh Esrei is promised they will have chen and will be protected. When Amtlai found out she was pregnant, Nimrod had made a gezeirah that all baby boys were to be killed right after birth, since his advisors had told him a boy would be born who would show the world who the real GD is. Not knowing what to do, she called out: "Whoever the GD of the world is, if this is a boy, save him!" H'shem helped her hide her pregnancy from everyone, including Terach, her husband. When it was time to deliver, she went into a cave and gave birth. It was a boy. She called him Avram. She knew if he was discovered, he would be killed.
