Rabbenu Bachya would like now to offer his opinion on a number of reasons why " The opportunity to obtain his livelihood without trouble and trail might be withheld from a righteous man.
1. He may be "paying a penalty" for a past sin
2.Compensation in the World -to- Come
3. An opportunity to show his "patients and positive outlook" in Serving his Creator. so that other people may learn from him.
4. To show to the wicked his "piety and devotion in the service of GD" opposite to their behavior.
5. As a result of his "failure to demonstrate zeal for GD's cause"

M. Shabbat Segulah

Once, on a Motzoei Shabbos, the chasidim were sitting in the bais medrash of the Ruzhiner Rebbe zy”a for Melave Malka. The Segulah and the promise of saying Avraham's mother's name

There is a well-known segulah from the Kaf HaChaim citing HaRav Refael Abuchatzera that one who says Avraham Avinu's mother's name אמתלאי בת כרנבו (Amtlai bat Karnevo) 17 times before Oseh Shalom in Shmoneh Esrei is promised they will have chen and will be protected. When Amtlai found out she was pregnant, Nimrod had made a gezeirah that all baby boys were to be killed right after birth, since his advisors had told him a boy would be born who would show the world who the real GD is. Not knowing what to do, she called out: "Whoever the GD of the world is, if this is a boy, save him!" H'shem helped her hide her pregnancy from everyone, including Terach, her husband.
